Where the idea began
Before the restaurant,
there were fins.
Years ago, Christian and his close friend Shawn Figueroa spent their time off making custom surfboard fins. It was a small project built around surfing, trying things, and the pleasure of building something together.
Second Light takes that feeling and gives it a new setting: a coastal kitchen where the food is approachable, the details are personal, and people have a reason to linger.
A little of what you love can become the character of a whole place.
The restaurant is fictional. The friendship and handmade fins behind the idea are real. This is an exploration of how a person’s experiences can shape a brand—from its name to the object waiting on your table.

Meet the makers · Concept feature
Small details.
Someone behind them.
A maker’s work carries choices you can see and feel: the curve of a fin, the grain of the wood, a stripe of color. Our proposed maker feature gives those people and their processes a place in the story.
For this concept, it starts with the fin. Future guest makers would be featured with their permission, their own words, and a link to their work.
About the design ↗Picture your visit
A seat that
suits your day.
Lunch on the shaded terrace. A cool spot inside after the beach. An evening table as the lights come on over the lagoon. The spaces are imagined around the way people spend time here.
